FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE POLICY
It is unlawful to waive/fail to collect or discount co-payments, deductibles, co-insurance, or other patient responsibility amounts per the Federal False Claims Act, Federal Anti-Kickback Stature, and State and Federal Insurance Fraud Laws. It is also in violation of many of our managed care contracts. This includes services deemed as “professional courtesy” and “TWIPS- take what insurance pays”.
Our practice abides by the contractual and legal obligations of health benefit plans to collect charges, co-pays, co-insurance, and deductible amounts owed by patients. Recognizing that circumstances may arise where an individual is unable to pay in full at the time of service, we have adopted a policy of screening requests for discounts, delayed payment plans, or forgiveness of debt based on individual circumstances. Individuals asking to be considered for a payment plan will need to provide hardship documentation. All information will be held confidential according to our privacy policy.
