Western Carolina Eye Associates Optical Shop provides any and all of your eye-wear needs. We have a large variety of great frame styles, sunglasses and designer frame lines to choose from at affordable prices. We have three Optical Shop locations in Watauga, Ashe, and Avery County.
Our doctors' extensive knowledge and use of state of the art equipment help to determine the best glasses prescription for you and your lifestyle. One of our trained optical technicians will then consult with you about the way you plan to use your eye-wear and which options, treatments, and styles will benefit you the most.

Don’t resort to unreliable online optical retail websites. WCEA has a full-service optical lab, located in our Jefferson location, which delivers superior products with quick turnaround. There we perform lens edging, tinting, cutting, sizing, and assembly all in one place! Having our own lab just a few miles away allows us to offer personalized service, better quality products, unbeatable turnaround and lower costs for our patients. We stand by our work and will ensure that your glasses offer the best vision and fit possible.

We now offer Chemistrie Eyewear in our Optical Shop. Chemistrie Color is a breakthrough in lens technology for patients with color blindness. We offer this new option for color deficiencies in ready made sunglasses, lenses for the patient’s existing frame, and custom Chemistrie magnetic clip ons. We also offer Chemistrie clips ons in a variety of other options. Chemistrie’s magnetic lenses are custom made to fit any frame and allow you to quickly change your clips to fit your needs. The magnetic lens-layering technology means you can easily transform your glasses into polarized sunglasses with Chemistrie Sun, readers with Chemistrie Plus, or computer glasses with Chemistrie Blue.
