LEARN MORE ABOUT BOTOX

Botox patient describe the affects Botox treatments have had on her life. If you have been suffering from migraines, make an appointment to see if Botox treatments are right for you.

Western Carolina Eye Associates offers Botox services for medical treatment of chronic migraines, blepharospasms (eyelid twitching and facial spasms) and cosmetic treatments.

Many of our patients suffer from chronic migraine headaches which can often be debilitating. In recent years, scientific evidence has emerged showing that Botox injections can prevent headaches before they start. As a headache specialist, Dr. Krontz has adopted this form of treatment with great success.  All Botox injections are preformed by Dr. Daniel Krontz in Boone, Banner Elk and Jefferson.

Medical Botox Treatments

Botox for Blepharospasm is used to stop or decrease eyelid twitching and facial spasms in people 12 years and older. Approximately 90% of patients showed improvement within 2-3 days. This service is often covered by health insurance with prior approval.

Botox for Chronic Migraines is used to decrease headaches in adults with chronic migraine who have headaches 15 or more days each month. Patients are typically asked to keep a journal of their headache patterns so we can track the progress of the Botox treatments. We have seen significant improvement in patients who have used this service. One patient was experiencing migraines up to 28 days a month and started noticing immediate improvement after the first treatment. Now, after just over a year of treatments she is almost completely headache-free. She states that she cannot imagine life without the treatments now. This service is often covered by health insurance with prior approval.

One patient marveled as she reported that, “Botox has been the only consistent relief from migraines that I’ve had in 15 years!”

COSMETIC BOTOX TREATMENTS

Cosmetic Botox is a prescription strength medication that is injected into the muscles to create a more youthful and hydrated appearance. Botox is an excellent way to create vibrant and refreshed skin with nonsurgical treatments. It temporarily (3-4 months) reduces frown lines, wrinkles and crow's feet. Patients who are consistent with treatment, receiving injections every 3 to 4 months, for up to a year, typically find their "problem spots" are much less prominent and they can stretch treatment time up to 5-6 months apart.  When receiving treatments at WCEA, patients can expect the high standards and professionalism of a medical practice and the safety of knowing they are receiving this treatment from a proven professional, Dr. Krontz. Injections are $12 each, but a typical treatment can require multiple injections.

One patient winked and smiled as she said, "I was thrilled to find out I could receive cosmetic Botox at WCEA, a medical office that I already know and trust. I am thrilled with the results! My friends and family all comment on how fresh and young I look, never suspecting that I am getting a little help! "
